Inspired by the Forbidden City’s “Sanxitang (三希堂)” wall vase.
The ancient “Wall Vase” was a half-size vase designed to be hung on the wall as decoration. It allowed for the enjoyment of flower arranging at any time, occupying minimal space while serving its purpose.
The porcelain vase, esteemed for its Ru kiln origin, serves as a vessel for nurturing flowers. The Micro-Scenic Wall Vase continues the traditional wall vase form, employing the complete Ru porcelain craftsmanship. Drawing inspiration from several major vase types of the Song Dynasty, it proportionally reduces their size while retaining the functionality for flower arranging. Combined with contemporary lifestyles, it elegantly restores the sophistication of Song Dynasty offerings in the form of Ru porcelain refrigerator magnets.
Introduction to Refrigerator Magnet Designs
Yuhuchun (玉壶春) : Replicating the Northen Song Dynasty’s renowned Ru Kiln “ Yuhuchun ping ‘bottle’,” a poetic expression from the Song era, “Yuhu Fortelling Spring.” This phase has bestowed the vase with it exquisite form.
Mei-ping (梅瓶): Transforming a former liquor vessel into a flower container, endless elegance abounds. Named for its bottle neck resembling a plum blossom branch.
Pomegranate Vase (石榴瓶): The pomegranate symbolizes auspiciousness, abundant harvest, and longevity. The vase, with its rounded and adorable shape, is highly ornamental and enjoyable to behold.
Hua-gu (花觚): A type of original-style bronze ware, solemn and classical, with a tall and slender body. When paired with a cluster of blooming flowers, it exudes a graceful and enchanting charm.
Zhe-jian Vase (折肩瓶): The shoulder-sloping form, akin to the beauty of a graceful lady’s shoulders, boasts strong yet gentle lines, encompassing a sense of grandeur.
Lotus Flower Bowl (莲花碗): Replicating the Northen Song Dynasty’s preserved Ru kiln Lotus Flower Warming Bowl, showcasing the flourishing grace of the lotus flower.
